A year after Scotts Valley teachers took a vote of no confidence against the district superintendent over acrimonious salary negotiations, it appears their relationship with Susan Silver is no better.

Attendance is on the rise in the Palm Springs Unified School District. Within the last two years, the district's attendance rate has improved by about 1 percent, according to data provided by the district.
