Where can we find infomation on setting up a foundation?

Question - Is there any guidance about how to set up a foundation?

Response – The National School Foundation Association was formed to provide a resource to existing and prospective public education foundations.  Their website contains guidance on a variety of topics, including how to form a public education foundation.  The website is located at http://www.schoolfoundations.org.  Once there, click on "Starting a Foundation" link at the left of the screen, towards the bottom.  You will be taken to a page that provides what you need to know to start a new foundation.

If you should choose to establish a community foundation, which can serve schools as well as a multitude of other purposes, the Council on Foundations provides information on the nature of these foundations and how to establish and operate them.  Their website is located at http://www.cof.org.
