Are athletic game ticket revenues considered ASB funds and is there a differentiation between student and adult ticket sales?

Question: Can you please tell me where in the ASB Manual it stipulates that GAME RECEIPTS (ticket revenue from athletic games) are considered ASB Funds? Is there a differentiation between adult ticket sales and student ticket sales? Perhaps a clarification of "STUDENT GENERATED FUNDS" would help. Can these funds be considered otherwise and be deposited into another fund that is NOT an ASB account and governed under another set of guidelines other than ASB guidelines? If this is possible, can the same be said for ticket sales at a Fine Arts production (i.e. band, choir, dance, drama)?

Response: Only the district administration/board can stipulate where game receipts (or fine arts receipts) are going to be attributed to. The FCMAT ASB manual does not, and cannot. That's a local district decision on whose fundraiser it really is. In some districts, the revenue goes to ASB, in others it's ASB, and in others, the district. There is no one correct answer.

If the money is going to go into a district account (i.e. a district fundraiser), district guidelines will prevail. If it's an ASB fundraiser, ASB guidelines (which are also district guidelines in most cases) will prevail. A separate set of guidelines cannot be established to bypass good internal controls and sound accounting practices.
