PTA: Is the term specific or generic?

Question: On page 6 of your ASB manual, in the discussion of parent organizations, you use the term PTAs. Does that term apply only to groups that are members of the legal entity called PTA, or is it intended to be a generic term to cover all parent groups?

Response: The term PTA is intended to mean all parent groups whether or not they are part of the official PTA.  We are glad you posed the question, as it is something we should clarify in future revisions of the ASB manual.
