Question:
Are there any limitations on ASB food/sales during the times that our cafeteria is open? Is it okay to have baked sales, etc. during times when the cafeteria is open?Response: Since you are a high school, the rules that must be followed are:
·
Four annual sales for all groups·
One group with daily sales (up to three food types)·
Not prepared on premises·
No competition with the Cafeteria program·
And remember that new legal changes are coming as early as 2007The specific question you ask as to whether there are limitations on ASB food/sales during the time that the cafeteria is open falls within the guidelines listed above. These rules are for during the school day, including ½ hour before school begins to ½ after it ends.
The four food fests are allowable due to the 4 annual sales for all groups, so that is allowable. As to the bake sales, if they are ½ hour after school they are fine. It is difficult to have them during the day due to the competition with food sales requirement, unless there is something being served that is not in competition by the one group that is allowed to have daily sales (up to three food types).
