Is the purchase of Spirit Packs permissible?

Question: One of the teams wants to hold a fund-raiser with some of the proceeds going to the purchase of "Spirit Packs." These Packs would contain shirts and attire that would kept by each of the individual players. Is this an allowable purchase for ASB to be involved in?  If not, is there a way for the team to purchase items for individual use that meets necessary guidelines?

Response: The purchase of "spirit packs" for all players on both the boys and girls basketball teams is considered an ASB allowable purchase.  The reasoning is that the expenditure benefits all members of both teams, which is what the club is made up of.

The answer would be no if, for instance, only the players doing fundraising received "packs", or if only the girls’ team received them (and not the boys team).  Basically, the expenditure would have to benefit the entire club (boys and girls), and in this case, it appears that that is the intention.
